States USA TODAY: With Seattle’s win over Cincinnati Bengals last
week, Pete Carroll now owns a victory over every NFL team.
He’s just 2-3 against the Steelers, though, and last week’s win over the
Bengals would normally have Carroll arrested for being complicit in
a crime.
How else do you explain a win despite being outgained to the tune of 429-233 total yards? Making matters worse today, the Seahawks are 2-12 SU and 1-12-1 ATS in road openers since 2005.
Flipping the script, the Steelers enter off a red-faced 30-point season-opening loss at New England. That fits like a pair of silk pajamas
next to Pittsburgh’s 32-10 SU and 31-10-1 ATS log in games when
coming off a loss of 20-plus points.
The Burghers are also 12-2 SU and 10-4 ATS in home openers, plus HC Mike Tomlin is the answer to this week’s TRIVIA TEASER on page 2.
And speaking of the Iron Curtain, the Black-and-Gold is 2-0 SUATS at home against Seattle behind Big Ben, winning by scores of 24-0 and 21-0. Talk about a stiff defense.
All of which leads us directly to THE CLINCHER: Pittsburgh QB
Roethlisberger is 8-0 SUATS in his NFL career whenever the Steelers are coming off an ATS loss of more than 18 point
