2020 PREAKNESS: OCTOBER 3

The 2020 Preakness Stakes will be held on Oct. 3, according to NBC network affiliate WBAL in Baltimore, Md. The television station reported on Wednesday that the time slot had officially been booked for the marquee race.

With the Kentucky Derby moved to Sept. 5, the Preakness will now be held four weeks after the traditional first leg of the Triple Crown.

No official date has yet been announced for the 2020 Belmont Stakes, but with Breeders’ Cup scheduled for the first weekend in November it seems most likely that the Belmont will be run before the Kentucky Derby this year.
