GOING TO PREP SCHOOL

By Marc Lawrence, Playbooksports.com — From this week’s PLAYBOOK Football Newsletter : It’s time to bid adieu to Colorado’s Karl Dorrell, a well liked head coach by us and his players, but not by the university brass.

After a 4-0 start last season in Boulder, the Buffaloes have gone 4-9 SU since to put Dorrell’s head on the CU chopping block. No such discord in Salt Lake City, not after Utah made an absolute mockery of the College Football Playoff Rankings by annihilating then No. 3 Oregon last Saturday night.

The 38-7 win over the discombobulated Ducks was the Utes’ largest margin of victory, and most points scored against an AP Top-10 team in school history. We like fading teams off record-setting performances, and with the Pac-12 title game on deck for Utah, we figure head coach Kyle Whittingham will go vanilla here.

With coach Dorrell 11-3 ATS when taking points against foes coming off a double-digit win, the bottom line is this is merely a prep game for the Utes. You know what to do
