MILLIONS CLASSIC PREVIEW

Sometimes you just have to believe, especially if you’re supporting a horse that in his last two starts was beaten a cumulative 36 lengths. But we have reasons.

This 1-1/16 miles is a prep for the richer Sunshine Millions Classic at GP’s Championship meet, a race he won last year. Mr. Jordan (4-1) must move forward here if he is to have any chance at the big money.

The conditions couldn’t be better for improvement. Seven year-old gelding is home, 5-for-5 in Miami Gardens and also a five time winner from 11 starts at the trip.

Further, Eddie Plesa is en feuego and currently 2-for-2 this meet with Paco Lopez, picking up the mount here.

We’ll take Mr. Jordan at 7-2 or greater and key box exactas with classy 3-year-old Art G. Is Back (2-1) and the extremely sharp Red Crescent (7-2).

YESTERDAY: We went 0-for-3. At Laurel Park, Saar’s Image (17-1) showed some speed but only in spots; perhaps turf is his best game despite the trainer’s profitable turf-to-dirt stats. We’ll give him two more chances… At Churchill Downs, Lucky Curlin (7-2) faced pace pressure throughout but still should have finished better than that. That was start #3 so he’s no longer on our list; you’re on your own… At GPW, Blockbuster (5-1) got jammed up entering the backstretch after breaking sharply, losing his position, but never picked it up at headstretch; don’t know what to make of the effort but we’re forced to bet back.

  1. There’s a very nice Harness race in Sunday the 10th at Rosecroft Raceway, the Potomac Invitational Pace, with a very solid field of ten entered.

ML favorite is McWicked (5/2) has to overcome the seven post. ML second choice American History (3/1) has drawn an inside two post and is coming off victory in the Breeders Crown, but my guess is may like the bigger tracks more than the 5/8 track.

My choice is #5 This Is The Plan (5/1) trained by Ron Burke and driven by Yanick Gingras, has been up against it the last couple of starts with bad outside draws, racing against the top two mentioned above.
Could sit an ideal trip and be up to the challenge.

Betting This Is The Plan at 4/1 or better. Win and Place tomorrow night R9 at Rosecroft.
