The third in Hallandale today, a starter allowance on the grass for three year old fillies, putting the winner of a recent race that already has produced a next out winner, vs. one that improved big time in a new barn.
A virtual tossup, we will allow price to dictate the play.
Clearly, Bode’s Heritage (9-5) is a deserving favorite. He last on the turf was excellent, a forward move that should continue given the usual parameters.
There’s that, and the fact it’s pole sitting with the meet’s leading rider for a barn that has had it’s usual highly produced winter season–Samy Camacho riding for Arnaud Delacour.
But we also love the way Royal Dame (9-2) improved in her first run for Darien Rodriguez on dirt recently, but knowing the barn is a profitable 27% moving from dirt to turf. The price disparity simply makes good sense.
Taking Royal Dame to win at 3-1 or greater and an exacta box with the favorite that will take a lot of beating.
