With promising weather forecasts from now through Maryland Million Saturday, looking forward to today’s 4th race, a 5-1/2 furlong sprint on the turf.
These races generally fill, of course, and Friday’s 4th is no exception. There’s no shortage of speed, or closer’s for that matter, signed on, and the projected race shape calls for a rally type in wind up in the circle.
Unoquoi (9-2) checks the boxes for me, for rally she does and when she does comes a runnin’. And the dynamics couldn’t be better.
The pace rates to be realistic at minimum, she’s nicely drawn outside, is partnered by turf ace Forest Boyce–and did we mention that she loves it at Laurel. What do you think given her lifetime mark at the trip is (9) 4-1-0.
Further, has has the ability to attend a rapid pace and still kick home. A little too fresh last out, she should be a bit more settled in her second start off the layup, and this win machine owns no fewer than eight victories at today’s trip.
Looking for a comfortable stalking trip from her outer position, taking Unaquoi to win at 7-2 or greater and an exacta box with Too Much Tip (7-2), dropping to a reduced level with Daniel Centeno.
