GOING GULFSTREAM – APR 3O

Today’s sixth race in Hallandale could not be more interesting and our wish is it would remain on the turf but in light of the wet forecast it is more likely it would be rescheduled for Tapeta track.

The good news is that we are prepared either way.

Typey (9-5) is a worthy favorite due to her consistently fast Thoro-Graph figures on either surface and her connections know how to play this game.

But we’re more interested in the value offered by the Pletcher trainee, Soviet Excess (5-2). She has run well on both surfaces and did not have an easy time of it in her last two runs, one on each surface. Check both FEB 5 and MAR 5 efforts, races 9 and 11, respectively.

Further, she never has taken a back forward and Pletcher, on balance, has deputized Emisael Jaramillo in the absence of his preferred New York-based pilots. The early line seems assured, barring scratches.

Betting Soviet Excess to win at 5-2 or greater and key-boxing exactas with Millennium Park (6-1) from the live Proctor barn and consistently fast Typey.
