Actually, McD, didn’t want to mislead or mis-state on another thread. Unless the odds are prohibitive–your line or post odds–a win bet is the primary bet, unless we’re talking about some 2-5 shot. You are supposed to make a profit, whatever that is, just from the win bet. To me, a win bet as saver is in a horizontal pool situation, where you might have “singled” a horse and just want a return on your horizontal investment. Exotics are for the score, a win bet keeps you whole–when they win, of course…
