SAINT LUCIA – Thoroughbred horseracing is set to launch in the Caribbean with the Royal Saint Lucia Turf Club’s maiden race meeting on December 13, 2019. The $150,000 Pitons Cup will highlight the meet.
China Horse Club founder and chairman, Teo Ah Khing, built Saint Lucia’s first racetrack and modeled its feature race after the Pegasus World Cup with only 12 slots available for purchase.
“Saint Lucians have been looking forward to having this international racetrack and an event of this nature,” said Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister, Allen Michael Chastanet. “The Royal Saint Lucia Turf Club adds to the attractions and activities that already exist on our beautiful and iconic island, which is among the fastest growing destinations in the world.”
