The NFL conference is wide open, and that’s before you factor in intriguing squads on the pretender/contender fence like the Bucs, Cardinals, even the Washington Football Team. NFL.com says the regular season is like a prestige television show and we are fast approaching the finale. Find your favorite spot on the couch and enjoy. On this week’s Power Rankings the Chiefs hold down the No. 1 spot, with the Packers moving up two places to No. 2. The Bills are peaking at the right time, having put together their most complete game of the season to date in an impressive over the Steelers. Meanwhile, the Steelers are in a certified funk. Pittsburgh has followed 11 consecutive wins to start the season with back-to-back losses. To read more on this week’s current NFL Power rankings click here.
American Athletic commissioner Mike Aresco says the deck is stacked against Group of 5 college football teams and its time to bring back the BCS. Aresco strongly criticized the College Football Playoff selection committee for dropping undefeated Cincinnati another spot in its rankings. He said the CFP selection committee needs to do some “soul searching” and is “undermining its credibility with rankings that defy logic and common sense and fairness. I never thought I’d say it, but if this continues, bring back the BCS and the computers because it would be a fairer system than what I’m seeing now.” His point is valid and well taken.
