SAINTS WILL MARCH IN

Game Three of the NFL preseason is also known as “dress rehearsal” week, when coaches take a longer look at starters in evaluating their progress for the upcoming season. New Orleans SaintS head coach Sean Payton is the king of this week going 9-3 SUATS in his NFL career, including 7-0 SUATS away. We’re not fading that, and neither should you.

Loud Knock On The ACC Door

Following up on yesterday’s take on Alabama, Axios Sport notes that Clemson is the first first-timer in the No. 1 preseason college football poll since Georgia in 2008. As a result the Tide will not open the season as the No. 1 team in the AP poll for the first time since 2015, when the Tide began the season ranked No. 3. Putting more pressure on the Tigers, ESPN is launched the long-awaited ACC Network Thursday. Conference networks have become enormous moneymakers this decade, so the launch of ACCN will help the ACC close the financial gap with leagues like the SEC and Big Ten, who have surged ahead. Next Thursday No. 1 Clemson will host Georgia Tech as the network’s first marquee live broadcast, and Clemson will also be featured in a “Hard Knocks”-style show this season. Watch and see what sort of an effect all the cameras will have on Dabo Swinney’s defending champs. We’re guessing it will be of an adverse nature. Stay tuned.
