There’s no question that A Great Time (9-5) will be a tough out in today’s Laurel Park feature for the team of Mike Trombetta and Julien Pimentel, a team that wins at 19% over the course of nearly 2,000 races.
Making her third start off a layup, she’s getting class relief dropping out of an overnight stakes and even her prior at the NX3 level–today’s condition is an NX2.
While not as proven as the favorite, Hip Hop (4-1) may have just as much ability, if her race here last September at today’s trip is any measure. The race she comes out of already is live; one winner from the only returnee.
And she had nothing but trouble–at the break, in upper and deep stretch. Her best races have come on this course, her last win came at this trip and her recent 34 3/5 trial will have her on her toes here.
Taking Hip Hop to win at 3-1 or greater and an exacta box with the favorite. [Should this race be rescheduled to the main track, the call goes to Limited View].
