GM John. Do you place any significance into the practice of avoiding ice cold barns? The reason I ask is that Thomas Proctor is a good trainer. Currently he has started 19 horses with one win and three in the money finishes.
If he had more in the money finishes I would attribute the record to racing luck; but statistically he has been ineffective at this meet.
Thanks for your input.
Jack, whenever possible, I try to avoid cold barns, kind of a daily ritual.
Proctor saddled a recent Spa winner, giving me the confidante it was a wakeup call for the barn.
A very sharp recent work and an equipment change makes filly live, IMO
Instincts are in your favor. Good luck!!’
Great job John nice exacta
I guess that the same question would apply to a ‘ cold jockey’,right Dylan Davis? All ‘ s well that ends well: Asmussen-Santana,Pletcher-JV who keeps rating horses to the front better than most other younger, winning riders. Bravo Manuel Franco who took advantage of sine top jockeys not being at the Spa full time, for a reason or another.listening to him,Angel Cordero comes to mind, not a bad comparison, even if temporary . Chad Brown won most training races as if it was not expected,,,,x ” only” the Ninth time. Katie Davis won two or three races in the same week, all from the outside posts, riding fillies/mares.Always thought that top female riders,if they ever had a slight advantage it was when riding horses of the same gender.Add Rosie K and Julie Krone to that short list .Am I wrong? I ll keep a tab on that. Good Spa meet, too bad that the NYRA has problems with its cable telecasts capriciously switching among Five stations( Fox main,Fox 1,Fox2, Fox sports and YouTube).Stop it already!! Plan to be at Belmont but only after a couple of weeks of watchingand taking notes.” Winter track” too,eh! Good bye ‘ pitiful inner track, welcome taffeta? Stay in the lane. Personal note: 9/11: Since I was within a dozen blocks from the towers on that Tuesday morning on my way back South, I still feel moved by so many things: The hiding of the Saudi involvement, the thousands of photos of dead people in their prime, between 25and 50 yrs old, with the signs: Have you seen this person” tothe thousands of first responders who vanished, from policemen, firemen to all other white collar victims working in their offices and then jumping off…..Many if them,my people,Long Islanders and from lower Queens, ruining families for generations .I always say, even today: If you were not there, you don’t know what it felt like veing clueless,,and a political, economical victim .Ask the Bush family, from their father son presidents to Old man Prescott Bush..” Omerta’ “. Reacting with Iraq was a distraction from the realities of the real situation ..and then we lost more, innocent, younger victims,in all kinds of uniforms .Just had to say it.Alla Salute.until next time
