Three-year-olds are the theme of the day in South Florida, too, only the Carry Back is for sprinters going seven-eighths of a mile. And considering the time of year, it has drawn some nice colts.

Favorite Octane (5-2 is turning from a lengthy layup that that’s not an issue for the Carlos David barn that is capable of layups of 90 days or more and is prove classy, the winner of three of four lifetime including two stakes, boasting a win at today’s trip.

Regular rider Emisael Jaramillo knows him well and it will be up to him to avoid a suicidal duel with the talented and fast King Cab (3-1). But with or without a pace pace, the fractions promise to be lively.

Strike Hard (6-1) with some tactical speed and good late kick, should use his outer draw to best advantage, especially after reuniting with Junior Alvarado who fits this guy really well.

He sports a brilliant work for this and is an ace at today’s surface, too. He’s had seven starts in Hallandale and has compiled a 3-2-1 slate. He has never hit the board on any other surface.
