GOING GULFSTREAM – JAN 15

Trainer Christopher Davis has been trying hard to get Firenspice (5-2) on turf but was foiled in his last two attempts, but he’ll get his wish now. gong five furlongs on Gulfstream’s firm course in today’s feature.

If you look at his pedigree you might be dubious that the 4-year-old can it it done: Sire Uncaptured is not known for the their success on grass, although te dam has had a turf winner from her three foals.

But where nature may be lacking, not sorry nurture. Davis is 25% going from synth to turf, is profitable first-time grass and in LAY-2 scenarios, confidence is restored. Not to mention that Davis is an otherworldly 32% effective when teaming up with Jose Ortiz.

Further, the colt’s late-run style suits the dynamics here as there appears to be enough speed signed on to put pressure on expected speedster Fulminate (7-2).

The Get Stormy filly is 3-for-3 on the local course and is back in the Casse shedrow, the outfit responsible for this three scores. The presence of Joel Rosario doesn’t hurt.

But we’re taking Firenspice who is fastest on the Thoro-Graph and has the consistency to match. Betting Firenspice to win, no price restrictions, and an exacta box with Fulminate
