GOING GULFSTREAM – JAN 27

Looking for a large field of potentially class types leads us to today’s seventh event for three-year-old fillies sprinting 5 furlong on the Hallandale lawn.

We can say that Sure Can (2-1) should have broken maiden last time out but events conspired. She her run and decide for yourself: Gulfstream Park, JAN 8, Race 1.

In position and set to make her run, she was taken up midway of the turn, waited for room at headstretch, finally should loose in midstretch and finished willingly in a quickly run dash, showing improvement on turf debut.

Apparently coming out of it well, she’s entered back quickly by Brian Lynch, who does well with short turnarounds. Edwin Perez will be in this throughout, assuming a clean break.

Taking Sure Can to win, no price restrictions, and an exacta box with newcomer Tactical Joke (3-1), making turf sprint debut for Wesley Ward with Irad Ortiz in the boot. We’ve seen this act before.
