The last six teams that have spent the most – 2022 Jacksonville, 2021 New England, 2020 Miami, 2019 NY Jets, 2018 Chicago, and 2017 Jacksonville – have turned that into win improvements averaging 5.3 the next season.
The question becomes whether new head coach Sean Payton, the former Super Bowl winning Saints’ coach, can follow the same path.
Payton cleaned out all the fat from QB Russell Wilson’s life, such as personal coaches, that clogged the orange and blue arteries in 2022.
There is no questioning who is in charge these days, and Denver fans must hope Wilson’s skin isn’t as thin as the Denver air after many of his privileges were revoked by Payton.
