GOING GULFSTREAM – FEB 25

Gulfstream Park is marking time until the huge Fountain of Youth card next weekend with the listed Gulfstream Sprint Stakes for older horses going six furlongs.

What Candy Man Rocket (3-1) may lack in speed figures, he more than makes up for in his preference for the Hallandale strip, where his next loss in four starts will be his first.

Further, while not fast on figures, he ran well enough in his five year old debut to indicate that another forward move will be forthcoming.

That, his wide draw, purposeful workline, with Alvarado on the re-ride seeking his third straight aboard Frank Fletcher’s colt. A nose bob cost him an undefeated slate at this trip, et another Bill Mott late developing sprinter.

We thought he was much the best winning his return; why not check it out: Gulfstream Park, JAN 21, Race 9.

We’re betting Candy Man Rocket to win, no price restrictions, and will single him in the Late Pick 4.
