With no turf scheduled for Friday, the most attractive place is a maiden allowances for juvenile fillies going 1 mile 40 yards.
While the field is small, coming up with the winner will take some imagination, the point being that there should be be any one overwhelming favorite on the tote.
The three most logical runners are Guns N’ Graces from Chad Brown whipping north from Payson Park who was a willing, albeit distance second on debut, but was moving forward at the finish. We believe it’s Chad more than the filly that’s responsible for the 4-5 early quote.
Second choice Wits and Wagers (5-2) is live and was going forward with an unimpeded rail trip and was going well late for fourth, a Keeneland route in which two Todd fillies needed a photograph to separate them at the finish. She’s worked purposefully at Payson for this.
But we’re going for the value available on Coffee House (6-1) who stretches out with the proper pedigree for added ground. She, too, is working with purpose and Eoin Harty does well stretching out off two sprints.
She holds an edge on early pace figures and the presence of Daniel Centeno suits her and the race dynamics well.
We’re taking Coffee House to win at 4-1 or greater and key-boxing exactas with her two rivals above.
