The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

The Summit of Speed weekend theme continues with the Bob Umphrey Sprint Stakes for three-year-olds and up dashing 5-1/2 furlongs on Tapeta track.

And it would appear that this would be Mora’s (7-2) best chance to earn stakes brackets.

Troubled in his season’s debut [see Gulfstream Park, JUN 2, Race 3] he returns at his best trip [4-for-8] and a more impressive 4-for-7 slate on the All-Weather.

His last was a good race to build and trainer Renaldo Richards gives the call to Miguel Vasquez, a tack that has worked a worthy 30% of the time.

Equally compelling is Richards’ rate with LAY-2 runners [24%] and recently with beaten favorites–6 for his last 10 starters.

We’re taking Mora to win at 5-2 or greater and key-boxing exactas with surface loving with Camacho handled surface lover Hope in Him (3-1) and fast working Warrior’s Pride (8-1).
