By Marc Lawrence — From this week’s PLAYBOOK Football Newsletter: When Miami suffered a 35-0 loss to Buffalo last week, it’s second-worst home loss dating back to at least the 70’s, they lost QB Tua Tagovailoa to fractured ribs in the contest.
His replacement, Jacoby Brissett was 24-of-40 for only 169 yards and an interception. If all goes according to Hoyle, the Dolphins figure to rally around Brissett in his first start replacing the injured starter.
FYI: Brissett is 12-20 SU and 16-15-1 ATS as a starter in the NFL. He’s at his best, though, when his team is coming off a loss going 11-7-1 ATS, including 5-0 ATS when coming off a spread loss of 15 or more points.
With the Raiders 0-8 ATS in post Pittsburgh performances, look for the Fish to rally around Tua’s backup today.
