Going to the largest field of the day, the finale, for maiden allowances sprinting 5-1/2 furlongs on Tapeta track.
We left three horses open but don’t want to overthink what’s right in front of us.
After setting the pace in her second start at a mile, Fulton Market (5-2) turned back into a sprint, a race re-scheduled to Tapeta track and she showed marked improvement with a game placing.
Pressed hard into the lane, she didn’t give way until very late. Check it: Gulfstream Park, FEB 20, Race 8.
Next out she was third back on dirt but today returns to synth and the added sixteenth should enable her to shake loose with not as much pressure as she faced in her last two starts.
Note that Tom Proctor is 3-for-8 going turf to synth, with two more money finishes, and recently had a best of 16 bullet for this and picks up Emisael Jaramillo here, an ace on synthetic.
We’re taking Fulton Market to win at 2-1 or greater and quinellas with Sadie Bear (3-1) for Fawkes, 29% effective going dirt to synth, and Queen Macha (9-2) for Jose D’Angelo, profitable lifetime with his synth runners.
