Not sure what got into Lizqueenfluerdelis (8-1) last time out but the deep closer took it to the extreme and was never really in contact with the field at any juncture.
Into the stretch, however, she finally leveled off and made a smart run on the fence into the to nearly reach contention from an impossible spot but understandably tired in deep stretch.
In breaking maiden impressively two back, she took the measure of today’s seventh early favorite, Ligeia (5-2), from the hot barn of Anthony Gravitz with Centeno, who did return with her maiden breaker in a subsequent start.
