Sunday’s sprint feature for fillies and mares going three-quarters has attracted a talented bunch of sprinters with two in particular who will love their return to Hallandale.
Beth’s Dream (7-5) is a deserving favorite. Racing in career form, she won an open class stakes in Maryland going a mile now comes home to race on a surface over which she’s 4-for-5 and 1-for-1 at a hybrid 6.5F.
But Hallandale is also hospitable to R Adios Jersey (7-2) who is a better price, better posted, is back in the Georgina Baxter shed and is a laudable 3-for-7 over this surface.
Dropping from two graded stakes, these state-bred fillies should treat her more hospitably and re-adds Lasix, with which she won three starts back. Also accomplished, she and ‘Beth’ are co-124 high-weights.
Taking the freshened R Adios Jersey to win at 5-1 or greater and key-boxing exactas with Beth’s Dream and her “other” mate Battle Cry (8-1) up in class off a sharp score and in receipt of 7 pounds from her rivals here.
