Today’s fourth on the Hallandale lawn is interesting, a stater allowances for fillies and mares going two turns.
The kneejerk reaction is to fade the favorite, Dontmesswithtess (3-1) who closed strongly to win her last, battling gamely late with several rivals now comes back first time off the Maker claim; a worthy favorite.
But we’ll go elsewhere and need to decide between tough-tripping Judge Judith (7-2), and Crystal Coast (6-1) who drops back to a more suitable level.
Judge Judith was forced to check at the rail into the first turn, then had to await her time, sitting last behind a very slow pace. She was lucky when the rail opened in the lane but settled for third after valid excuses.
However, we’re going to shade Crystal Coast on the drop for Carlos David, profitable in his career from all turf runners.
Returning six weeks fresh, David gives the assignment to Miguel Vasquez–a profitable 25% when teaming up.
But the clincher for us was her winning race over similar two back in which she demonstrated a terrific turn of foot for this level. She reason to expect a return to form given her tactical speed and inside draw.
Check out her run to see if you agree: GP, DEC 9, Race 8.
We’re taking Crystal Coast to win at 7-2 or greater and key-boxing exactas with her rivals above.

I’m starting to think this Irad Ortiz Jr. guy might be pretty good.
