The return of racing to Maryland is a darn sight better than it was when we left. Amazing what the absence of racing and about a 30 degree temperature shift can make.
Sunday’s ninth race is an excellent example of Laurel racing at its best, a gateful of young allowance horses sprinting one mile out of the chute. And if the 9-2 early line holds on Mine Not Mine you get a talented live runner at a more than fair price. We doubt if will be available, however.
Not only does Golden Lad three-year-old have an experience edge over many of his rivals, but he’s getting class relief, and blinkers–a profitable 25% angle for this barn that does great work with Sheldon Russell rides for Brittany Russell. Makes sense, yes?
And if that weren’t enough, Mine Not Mine returns at his best distance of his runner-up finish two back that would handle this group easily if repeated. Check at that run on the Laurel Park Live Video, RACE 6 on FEB 15 to see if you agree.
We’re taking Mine Not Mine to win at 7-2 or more and key boxing exactas with Dreams Untold (5-2) and Skyscanner (8-1), both of which are exiting key races.
