The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

Saturday’s secondary allowances, the day’s eighth race, has attracted so many good turf fillies and mares going a mile that perhaps the race should have a moniker attached to it. A stakes by any other name…

The choices are wide and varied in terms of style, including a horse making its U.S. debut for top connections and, of course, Christophe Clement should have king’s Harlequin (4-1) fit for duty.

But we will go in another direction with a good chance of receiving fair value. Tik Toc Famous (6-1) fits that bill. Given the roughed start and race dynamics, a loss would have been forgiven, but she held like a tigress and wound up winning her three-year-old finale by a neck.

Check it out to see if you agree. In the HRI video section of the homepage, see her local effort on DEC 29, Race 9.

Tik Toc Famous has repeatedly has shown an ability to run well–and win–when fresh and has been training with purpose since late January as given a month of R & R.

The newly turned four-year-old has tactical speed, can kick, is nicely posted, and Chantal Sutherland gets along very nicely with position types and, as stated, the price will be fair.

Taking Tic Toc Famous to win at 9-2 or greater and quinella boxes with King’s Harlequin and another classy, fresh returnee, Por Que No (8-1), who loves this course and trip.
