By Marc Lawrence, PlaybookSports.com — Somebody is winning its first Stanley Cup in franchise history and it starts tonight.
The Florida Panthers will be looking to hoist the cup as a No. 8 seed for only the third time in NHL history. They approach each game with a fun-focused attitude as there’s no pressure or expectations weighing them down, and that’s a gift in itself.
Behind goalie Sergei Bobrovsky and forward Matthew Tkachuk they take the ice as the two hottest players in the playoffs. Bobrovsky has been a brick wall over his last 12 games, going 11-1 with 438 saves on 465 shots (.942 save percentage).
Vegas goalie Adin Hill began the month of May without a single playoff appearance on his résumé, but he has become one of the biggest reasons the Golden Knights have reached the Stanley Cup Final for the second time in six years. Forwards Jack Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault key the Knights’ attack.
