By Marc Lawrence — NBC Sports report NFL players have approved a new labor agreement with the league that features a 17-game regular season, higher salaries, increased roster sizes and larger pensions for current and former players. The deal runs through 2030. There was some strong player opposition to the deal, though. Aaron Rodgers, J.J. Watt, Russell Wilson and Todd Gurley spoke out against it. New benefits include added profit sharing, reduction of the preseason, two more roster spots and a softening on Marijuana laws. For more details on the agreement click here.
A Sign Of The Times
The Wynn sportsbook and casinos in multiple states have closed temporarily amid the coronavirus pandemic. Wynn Las Vegas confirmed to David Purdum of ESPN that its sportsbook and poker room will be closed for an undetermined amount of time. The Wynn is the first Nevada casino to shut down its sportsbook since the coronavirus caused almost all professional and collegiate sports to suspend play. State officials in Illinois on Friday ordered casinos to suspend gambling operations for 14 days beginning this past Monday. Illinois launched sports betting for the first time just four days before Friday’s announcement.
