The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

A very contention optional claimer in today’s third going 1-1/16 miles on the Gulfstream turf.

Three runners attract the eye and each impressed with a terrific stretch kick; Housed (3-1), Mister Abarrio (7-2) and Rotterdam (4-1).

Using upside to separate them, we’re taking the colt on the improve that’s won adding Lasix and should have won his latest, trailing badly into the far turn, forced to rallied wide into the lane and flew home for place.

All three colts can kick on but ‘Abarrio’ rates to sit closer to the early pace given the splits of his last, not giving Jose Ortiz, who rode him for the first time last out, more options.

Check out his powerful late kick to see if you agree: Gulfstream Park, JAN 1. Race 3.

Taking Mister Abarrio to win at 5-2 or greater, key-boxing exactas with his rivals above and adding synth-to-turf Right On Richie (6-1) to the trifecta mix.
