By Marc Lawrence, Playbooksports.com — From this week’s PLAYBOOK Football Newsletter: As bad as Baker Mayfield was last week, Ben Roethlisberger was worse in an awful effort against Kansas City, with the Chiefs limiting him to 23-of-35 passing for 159 yards, and one touchdown.
As a result, the Steelers have now been held without a TD in the first half of 5 consecutive games. That’s their longest streak since 1940, when they were held without a first half TD in 6 straight games.
There is no looking past the Black-and-Gold’s -52 overall net Yards Per Game this season, fashioned most recently by its’ 0-6 ITS slide in the last six contests. Nor past Big Ben’s free-falling 73.4 and 80.1 Passer rating the past two games in which he’s passed for 159 and 148 yards, with ONE TD pass.
Cleveland massive edge tonight, though, is its +1.0 net YPR as opposed to Pittsburgh’s -1.1 net YPR. That’s an over two full net YPR advantage. Heck, those are numbers that even Mayfield can eclipse.
