The Saturday feature in Hallandale is te Three Ring Stakes for Florida-bred juvenile fillies appears a two-horse battle between Mon Coquette and Liberty Rings. We prefer the latter.

Liberty Rings has twice as many starts, is a dual stakes winner at this grade, is better posted outside in this fix-filly mix and she moved forward last out, earning the field’s best figure

Taking Liberty Rings to win, no price restrictions, and exacta-boxing with ‘Coquette’.

  1. GM John. I am amazed at the insane purses offered for the Kentucky Downs meeting. I would think that a 7 day annual meeting the purses are fueled by the slots.
The funny aspect of the European style course is that when you are in the lead or close to the lead late in the race the camera shot switches and there is still a distance to complete.
For me I never seem to gain ground at that stage. Ha ha
    Good luck with your wagering

  2. And a safe and speedy journey to your equines, Jack …
For the dynamics you mention, I live watching the racing the racing there, a refreshing change of pace,
And yes, the handle is great, but slots fuel the outrageous purses

  3. Riders Up with Broadway once more for a five spot I ride. TRI, SF, and EX all covered. That’s a lot of action for $5.40.

Labor Day Flowers for “Photos by Toni” should we meet at the Cashier’s Window after John.

  4. Spinaway numbers:6-7-824. Betting 2 yr olds with limited races under their belts aren’t my fav.races to get, especially in sprints. On false move, start and Kaput, rip the tickets away. Again,NYRA should try to find a solution to this childish moving back and forth among three channel during One program! Never seen, even less try to follow ” which channel is going to show which race”.Hey,keep it inside the YouTube locker if that s the solution.Wth the $$$ spent on the Belmont year long expectations, what s an additional ” fistful of dollars” to treat customers, bettors, gamblers with some deserved steady service? Stop insulting the weak, dependent, addicted followers if you want to keep them. God knows bettors have other, increasing, opportunities to use their $$$ now that college football has just started. So,what s your line on that?

    1. I often chastise you for complaining for complaining’s sake. Not this time! I share your complaints re Fox racing coverage,
I’m disgusted trying to follow a day’s racing as Fox continues to play the rating’s game.
Fox needs to create a racing channel–or NYRA does, over-paying for it if necessary.
Indifferent Fox coverage hurts the game’s popularity, never mind cultivating new fans.
Conservatively, nearly 80% of the wagering comes from off-track, those players deserve much more respect than what Fox provides.
Racing is a daily product, not a seasonal one. That audience deserves full time coverage!

      1. Why can’t NYRA $$ be invested in a three-four hour block, especially on weekends? The can always try to sublet ads from several of the horse industry breeders, etc who want specific demo exposure. Never seen any other sport being treated so lackadaisically. I never believed that by part time showing it in two or more outlets will have bettors sticking to them after trying to find the source of its labyrinth.Well, at least,I won’t bother with them. It is a sport, not an addictive Necessity.Stop insulting the hands that still feed you.

  5. I am watching more racing from tracks that broadcast live on YouTube for free viewing. Subscription and/or membership NOT required. Assiniboia Downs in Manitoba is a fun track – especially the line dancing after the 3rd race.

  6. He guys…the following was posted and also sent to a few thoroughbred media outlets around Saratoga Springs on August 28….

is complete for the Travers. I have felt that this year’s crop of 3 year olds is sub par, at best. None of the “top tier” colts have shown me that special something. There is one running Saturday that might change everything. And it’s not “the wise guy” horse, Sea Strike.

Where is Commandment here? He’s not in the Travers because his owners and his trainer may have an Ace up their sleeve. Cox has entered Leading Change in this prestigious race after just two lifetime starts. I have watched both of his wins and I see a colt that has the potential to kiss this field goodbye. The potential. The potential. I think all the horses in the Traverse have reached their potential. Not Leading Change. I see that possibly happening Saturday around 6:35 EDT. As much as Manny Franco is on board, so am I. Yep, my pick is Leading Change.

    Good luck all!

It was, as Trotter said in “Let It Ride”, a very good day….

    1. Interesting … not only have I never seen this but first time I’ve heard about that happening–that’s probably my bad.
Had I seen this, I probaby still would not have bet becuase of lack of experience.
      Good on you, Duke!

    1. Thank you! If you want to watch for two things from the Indiana Derby for Leading Change, one is the finish and one is something I’ve never seen.
Irad actually stops riding about ten yards from the finish…wraps him up. The other thing happens between the first 1/4 and the half. Leading Change begins to, um, “relieve himself” while tracking in second. Seriously!
I’m not the only one to cash on this guy, as he was 16-1 during the post parade and went off at 10-1.
Keep up the good work guys!

  7. John, your case for Liberty Rings is persuasive because it combines her added experience, outside post, and improving form rather than leaning on a single factor. Fort George’s narrow Saratoga loss also makes the international turf matchup particularly intriguing.
