The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

By HRI Foreign Desk Staff — Horse racing ranks as the most popular sport to bet on, with gamblers worldwide wagering on the sport of kings with the best sportsbooks. From Royal Ascot with the Queen of Great Britain in attendance to the hype and drama of the Kentucky Derby, punters love to gamble on all things racing.

Many see it as a way to ramp up their interest in an event, while other, more avid and loyal supporters of equine sports know betting is a great way to bring themselves closer to their passion. In racing, your knowledge, understanding and expertise can result in a profit, more so than betting in many other sports where the officials and even lady luck plays a bigger part in predicting the results.

If you plan on placing a bet on the next big race, it’s wise to ensure you have the benefit of the best equipment. Just like in many walks of life, you are only as good as your tools. Having the best betting apps can increase your chances of backing a winner,

In this article, we explain what you should look for in a horse racing betting app to give you a vital edge over the traders. The upcoming international horse racing schedule is packed with exciting fixtures, including the King George VI Chase, Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and the Caulfield Cup.

Bonuses and promotions

When first seeking out a horse racing betting app, you’ll notice the sheer volume of options available to you. The marketplace is one of the most competitive in business, with long-established, former land-based sportsbooks battling against start-up and online-only bookies for your attention. It’s a buyer’s market, and you should ensure you are getting the best value available.

In a bid to stand out from the crowd and catch your eye, the most successful bookies offer a range of bonuses and promotions. The most common is the welcome bonus which is a deal reserved for new customers. If you choose one sportsbook over the competition and create an account, the firm will reward you with a welcome bonus. This usually comes in the form of a free bet equal in value to your first deposit and bet. Others are risk-free bets and enhanced odds.

After you have created an account and grabbed your new player promo, you’ll notice there is a solid list of recurring promos for horse racing members. The best of these include cashback if your horse falls or finishes second to the favourite, price boosts, and profit boosts on multiple bets with three or more selections included.

Great odds and coverage

Next, you want to be betting with a bookie that offers great odds on every selection you make. Click the horse racing tab and what you want to see here is all major tracks covered in detail with early betting odds available on upcoming races. There should also be ante post racing on future events like the Grand National in England. These markets are often available almost 12 months in advance of the race, and the earlier you place your bets, the better the odds will be.

If you browse the horse racing tab of any respected betting odds comparison site, you will see a few bookmakers stand out as offering the biggest prices and most value. These are the sportsbooks you should be placing your bets with. You want to get the market best odds on every bet you place on horse racing. Doing so will increase your chances of making a long-term profit.

The differences in price between bookies may look small and almost insignificant, not worth searching for better, but these small margins soon add up and have an impact on your annual profit/loss column. Taking even a slightly lesser price than you would get elsewhere is like handing free money to the bookies, and we know they have enough already.

Free live streaming

Lastly, you want to see a live streaming option on your sports betting app. The leading bookies offer customers the chance to not only place bets on horse racing but also watch their selection run. They do this through an HD quality live stream with no lagging or loading times. In many cases, this is free to use if you have placed a bet on the outcome of the event.

Place your bets on the race, and just before the advertised start time, you can click the live streaming tab to start the feed. This can be viewed on your home computer or smartphone app. The latter allows you to turn everyday scenarios into an opportunity to bet on and watch horse racing.

In addition to the live streaming, there’s also expert camera angles, preview and predictions, results, pre-race betting, form and plenty more besides.

  1. It’s hard to look for booking values when one bets a few minutes before post time. ‘ BEST EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS’ : It depends on what you re referring to.Not screwdrivers or hammers of course but the best tools remain between our ears on what we ‘ be learned from hits/misses and,of course,lo$$es . The promos, come -ons are a pain in the butt.Don’t bother the customers as they are trying to send in bets! Send that junk to the e mail box. Have a good, reliable, fast Smart phone,if you’re not playing at your home-office- cave which remains and Will Be The place to concentrate, logically reflect and bet. Not all answering services are the same,,as I still look for better ones when I dial those ten digits. Personally, there are TOO Many companies,of every size who are in this business and most of them treat customers with juvenile com -ons. A $ 25 ‘ free bet’ is not meant for experienced, hardened patrons who have seen these MTVs kiddie level of advertising for too long…And there’s more,as that salesman with a light bulb oven used to say..Spare me, you’re only distracting me,and as my wife will attest,I Don’t Want That ,I HATE it … to the point of getting rid of you since you’re not respecting my time and $ !Just the facts, the rest is a waste which won’t interest me.Keep the $ 25 and leave me alone with your spam!

  2. I cannot disagree with what you say, but the piece, from our European sources, tries to appeal to both European and American audience. With that in mind and I’m happy to share their professional opinions with our audience.
Handicapping and betting is non linear and sometimes a different perspective can help clear up certain challenges that confuse our audience and if the betting experience is made better, the better the bettor’s chances.
And that’s horse racing, right? Different strokes. What works for me, or you, or Mr. Brit punter might be an entirely different preference.
