The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

IT’S MONDAY, GET OVER IT

From the Playbook Totals Tipsheet: Kansas City is 5-0 OVER on Monday Nights, and 5-1 OVER in Game Eleven of the season. The Chargers are 7-1 OVER as a dog versus the Chiefs when both teams are coming off a loss. No further instructions needed.

Thought for the Day

If defense wins championships then don’t discount Georgia’s chances to take down LSU in the SEC title game. Paul Meyerberg of the USA Today notes that more LSU opponents than not rank in the bottom half of the FBS in yards allowed per play. The Bulldogs have faced the 4th most difficult defenses, allowing 4.1 Yards Per Play (LSU’s foes allow 5.3, No. 51 in the nation). The Dawgs defense will give Georgia a shot in the SEC championship game … Two wins in a row, and three of the last four against Michigan State has likely save Jim Harbaugh’s neck (for the time being) but the flames under Mark Dantonio’s fanny couldn’t be any hotter… Iowa State’s game winning field goal before time expired against Texas last week makes them the best 6-4 team in the land, and 6-4 Longhorns the most overrated… Baylor ran just 16 plays after the half in letting a 31-10 halftime lead fritter away in a heartbreaking loss to Oklahoma…
