By Marc Lawrence, PlaybookSports.com — Ronnie from the Big Apple wanted to say – “I see where Stephen A. Smith is going through negotiations for his next contract at ESPN, and he reportedly turned down an extremely lucrative offer from the network. What kind of money is the loudmouth looking for?”

Answer: The New York Post has reported that Smith turned down a $90 million offer from ESPN and is asking for $25 million per year in his new deal. Word has it that the 4-letter behemoth offered him $18 million per year.

Another report said the network has offered the talking head a five-year, $135 million deal ($27 million per year) to remain at ESPN. Smith, 56, a former newspaper columnist, is most known for his loquaciousness, making headlines daily for his opinions.
