GIANTS WILL UPSET DALLAS

The Ezekiel Elliott holdout was a cancer for the Cowboys. Rather than focusing on the task at hand, Dallas players have been busy answering Zeke questions all summer.

This for a team that is still aglow after capturing the NFC East last season despite a defensive downturn. Our suggestion is to get your mind back to the business at hand, ASAP. And don’t overlook the mad-as-hell Giants, who have taken it squarely on the chin in each of the last four meeting in this
series.

It’s bad enough Jerry’s boys are just 1-4 ATS in lid-lifters the last five years, but also 1-4 ATS as favorites in the first of consecutive division duels. Big Blue enters with a new look behind first round QB Daniel Jones, fresh off a 4-0 effort this preseason.

They are also 6-1 ATS in division games when seeking quadruple revenge-exact. Toss in HC Jason Garrett’s super-soft 17-33-1 ATS record as a home
favorite with the Cowboys, including 3-11-1 ATS when favored by 7 or more points and we have ourselves the makings of a major upset.

As we mentioned in the 2019 Playbook Preview magazine team preview write-up for the Cowboys – it’s time for Dallas to ‘Cowboy-up’. As our good friend and native Dallas legend Norm Hitzges said on an ESPN 30/30 documentary, “If you’re gonna be a dirty program, you better be good at it. You better understand that the group handling the dirtiness has to be committed.” Are you listening Jason… and Zeke?

With that, we hand it off to THE CLINCHER: NFL dogs of 6 or more points in season-opening games that went 4-0 in the preseason are 6-1 ATS.
