It’s been a long time between drinks of water from the end of the season last year to the start of a new one this year.
And it’s an especially anxious time for those teams who capped off a winning campaign that earned a season-ending bowl bid. Eager they are to get back on the gridiron, that’s for sure.
It’s even more so for teams who laid a big egg in a bowl game. We call these guys RED-FACED BOWLERS.
What we are looking to do with these embarrassed beyond-all-recognition teams is to –
PLAY ON any college football team in
its season-opening game if they lost s
traight-up as a bowl favorite of
-7 or more points last season.
San Diego State qualified as a play – and won – in this role last week.
