We will be ready for whichever way the wind blows in Oldsmar Saturday. If the rain keeps up, fine–an interesting maiden allowances on turf to complete the early double. If the race is rescheduled to the main track we’ll be covered there, too.
Obviously we prefer the race stay on the surface it was intended for and hope that at least half the early odds at 6-1 will be Ravir ante post. Did you seen his debut? If not, no problem, check out the TAMPA BAY TODAY video on the homepage: TAMPA BAY DOWNS, DEC. 30, RACE 5.
Son of Uncle Mo was a very good second on debut, maintain contact with his field early, dropping back while racing between horses mid-race, then launching a wide bid into the lane for place, a length behind the winner but nearly six lengths in front of the show finisher.
Usually we’re not a fan a two-turn late ralliers stretching out but young horses improve immeasurably this time of year and he has enough pedigree to get him today’s added furlong. Samy Camacho takes the return call from Christophe Clement and goes first-Lasix here.
If the race is rescheduled, we’re taking Main-Track-Only Be Like Water (7-2) who also was an excellent second on debut at 7 furlongs on the main track at Churchill Downs, earning an excellent Thoro-Graph performance figure. We like his spacing and she’s been training right along for Vicki Oliver.
On turf, taking Ravir to win at 3-1 or greater, or taking MTO Be Like Water at 5-2 or greater
