TURFWAY HANDLE: BOOM!

You hear it stated, most often to the contrary, but size does matter. Here’s a look behind the record setting betting numbers posted by Turfway Park at its recently concluded winter/spring meet, courtesy of HRI contributor Michael Antoniades.

The meet concluded Saturday with a massive 62% gain in all-sources handle, resulting in 43% increase in purses. Here’s an insiders look at the numbers:

Turfway Park had the lowest percentage of winning favorites at 30%. They also had the highest payouts by far for Q1.
