SA SAFETY PROTOCOLS WORK

But the bad news is that the Breeders’ Cup Championships lost two participants for the big weekend at The Great Race Place.

Maxfield, the impressive winner of Keeneland’s Breeders Futurity, came up with a slight filling in his right foreleg this morning and was declared from the Juvenile and his highly anticipated match with race favorite Dennis’ Moment.

Landeskog, a Breeders’ Cup Sprint entrant, will be scratched after “tie-ing up” when he got back to Doug O’Neill’s barn following a morning gallop. Tie-ing up is extreme cramping. It’s temporary and not serious but all are erring on the side of caution at Santa Anita this week.

Good idea.
