Taking a look at a rare sprint at Tampa today, a 5-1/2 furlong jaunt for fillies and mares. The form looks tight, but the combination of what you expect to see won’t provide a big payday.
Both have wins at today’s distance and recent Anthony Granitz claim has recency, a winning score last out on the class drop but meeting a more accomplished set here with more of an accent on early gas because of the trip.
Granitz is 20% efficient in first start off the claim and Pablo Morales has been winning virtually everything in sight of late.
But at the distance freshness counts, the workline is purposeful and good, and she has zip out of the gate, pole position and Ronnie Allen has a win and a place aboard the 4-year-old in two tries. Appearingthe speed of the speed helps those chances.
Kissmeonemoretime (5-2) won by an open margin last out but got loose and finished up in modest time. The turnback and rise can be problematical, even with the barn change. Check out the Tampa Bay Today Video to see if you agree with our view, RACE 3 on FEB 23.
But we’ll take Princess Livia (2-1) with no price restrictions and an exacta box with the Granitz claim.
