We’ve all heard trainers say “put a line through the race” one one of their horses uncharacteristically badly. No quote necessary this time, it’s right there in the short comment for Street Legacy’s (3-1) last, “unprepared, broke in air.”
If that weren’t enough, the horse was switching to dirt and coming off a huge lifetime top returning on relatively short rest, so he rated to bounce, trouble or not. Check out his prior turf win, however, not only was it fast but it was accomplished with complete authority, geared down late.
‘Legacy’ has a rival that will be very tough to beat, Fine Spirit (4-1), an easy, drawing-off under wraps six-length score for Dale Bennett. The good news for our choice is that turf ace Pablo Morales, who ride them both last out, sticks with our choice.
Check the Tampa Bay Today Video on ‘Legacy’ and see what you think: RACE 6, Feb 15. We’re taking Street Legacy to win with no price restrictions and a boxed exacta with Fine Spirit.
