With clear skies promised it’s back to the turf course where in today’s seventh race, two horses are coming off interesting trips.
The first is Armando’s Team (5-1) who, after getting the shuffle early, finished like a wild horse in deep stretch to win going away and galloping out well past the finish. Makes reasonable rise at same level but goes from an N2L condition to N3L. Loses Camacho but gains Gallardo; a wash.
Vintner (7-2) looks the more intriguing of the pair, however. Breaking from the rail in last, Ronnie Allen surrendered all his position after breaking sharply and wound up sixth on the first turn, then was taken outside in the backstretch run.
After moving into position on the final turn, he finished with interest while ridden out in the late stages. That effort in Oldsmar on DEC 27, RACE 7, was his first in 2-1/2 months. In the past, he has responded better when his races were more closely spaced, as is the case here.

Nicely drawn in post 3 here, Ronnie Allen rides Vintner back for Moises Yanez who has a pair in here but more significantly was profitable with 81 starters last year. We look for Allen to be a little more aggressive in this spot.
We’re taking Vintner to win, no price restrictions, and an exacta box with Armando’s Team.
