Both Train to Artemus and Little Jewel could not have enjoyed better going than each had in last, sitting in behind embattled leaders from the catbird seat.

However, Little Jewel has the advantage of greater upside in this spot. First, Little Jewel enjoys better spacing into this and stayed at home while ‘Train’ ventured north for Tampa’s Lightning City.

Second, she’s in receipt of four pounds, ‘Train’ paying the tax for a recent stakes win.

Now while Little Jewel was a recent graduate in her last, it is well nothing that the run was only her second start in three years. Obviously, there was an issue but the Vaccarezza family gave her plenty of time.

After not having run in that period, this will be her third start off the layup, a sign of good health, and worth noting that trainer Carlo is a profitable 21% effective with recent maiden winners.
