With the promise of clear skies, Saturday’s Laurel feature, a secondary allowances for older horses going nine furlongs on turf and perhaps an opportunity to find value in a big, contentious field. We think Mokheef (5-1) is the one.

When she partners with Sheldon Russell, the stats get even better and he’s had a sharp half-mile breeze at his Pimlico base for this and is nicely posted inside.

Taking Mokheef to win at 4-1 or greater and box an exacta with Papal Law (7-2).

Unfortunately, Russell suffered a broken wrist in a gate incident at Delaware Thursday and will be out 4-6 weeks so there will be a change of rider. Fortunately, the intent remains the same, check changes on Saturday
