The betting buy-word of the day in Northern Florida is adaptability. Sunday’s fifth event on the Tampa turf offers a usually competitive group and today is no exception.

Half this field of good horses — a rare NX3 three with an optional $100K claiming tag can win this one- mile event and race sharp will have a strong bearing on the outcome. Enter Seven Channels (3-1).

While, lamentably, she has more money finishes than victories, her versatility stands her in good stead here.

The gelded six-year-old can kick strongly when the pace gets hot or lay in close attendance when it’s not. See his effort on MAY 25, at Gulfstream Park, Race 5, for further evidence.

Lisa Lewis ships north from Payson Park after a chase ad fade effort on Gulfstream’s Tapeta track in his return to SoFla, finishing one-paced.
