By Marc Lawrence, PlaybookSports.com — Game Two takes on a new look in the NFL this week. With it, according to my Well-Oiled Machine, two interesting situations are in play today…
Since 2010, home underdogs have been 41-23-4 ATS (64%) in Week Two. Seven teams are in this situation this weekend:
Jacksonville Jaguars (+.3.5 vs. KC Chiefs)
Tennessee Titans (+3 vs. LA Chargers)
Los Angeles Rams (+7.5 vs. San Fran 49ers)
Arizona Cardinals (+4 vs. New York Giants)
New England Patriots (+3 vs. Miami Dolphins)
Carolina Panthers (+3 vs. New Orleans Saints)
Pittsburgh Steelers (+2.5 vs. Browns)
Inside those numbers: Dogs of fewer than 6 points are 34-14-4 ATS.
In addition, since 2010, rookie quarterbacks drafted first overall are 7-2 ATS (77.8%) and 3-6 SU (33.3%) in their second career start. That is potentially good news for Bryce Young and the Panthers today.
Finally, Tennessee head coach Mike Vrabel is 5-0 SU and 4-0-1 ATS at home in his NFL career versus AFC West opponents.
