Friday’s feature race in Hallandale appears to be a battle of sprint specialists on Tapeta Track between Gitana (5-2) and Heir to the Roar (4-1).
The Saffie Joseph trained favorite brings a (8) 4-0-1 slate to the part while Ruben Sierra’s third choice on the early line is (8) 3-0-2.
So why not opt for the expected better price?
Gitana has been meeting better stock while ‘Heir’ is racing in career form.
Claimed at the winter meet in February, ‘Heir’ broke through in her fourth start since haltered and earned a lifetime best Thoro-Graph last out.
Sierra has been on a tear the last few months, winning at a 39% rate. In that time, Lionel Reyes has ridden two horses for the outfit, winning both. ‘Heir’ rates to be sitting in the pocket from close range.
Taking Heir of the Road to win at 3-1 or greater and key boxing with the favorite and a very competitive Call Me Spicy (7-2).
