The Conscience of Thoroughbred Racing

Will Kreesie Turn Donk’s Luck Around?

After the MTOs are scratched should the featured race remain on turf, we’re down to a field of six in the 6th race at Belmont Park. And if speed figures are a measure—and they always are, early line favorite Kreesie (2-1).

There’s not a lot of speed signed on here and with the aggressive Jose Ortiz in the boot, the 4YO filly, a three-time winner on Elmont grass will always be in a position to win. David Donk trainee is the most probable winner.

But the mantel of best value will be carried Repatriated Gem (9-2). The 3-year-old will be getting eight pounds from the older favorite and Javier Castellano also has a gift for knowing what to do in a soft-pace two turner. She was a game second despite being pace compromised at this trip, on this course last out.

She ships in from Fair Hill for Michael Stidham (4-for-14 at the meet) coming off a sharp half-mile breeze.

We’re boxing this exacta with a win bet on Repatriated Gem at 3-1 or greater, and we’ll use price shot Style and Grace (10-1) to complete exotics.

  1. Thank you very much gentleman, appreciate the good wishes and really makes me happy that you like it. It’s up probably a little more than 24 hours and there’s much to do and learn but Mark B and I wanted to do more; some sports, some harness, to go with our regular features–and might have talked T.J. into reviewing the new TV season in the fall! That would be great fun–but only if he enjoys doing it that is. Thanks again gents!
