Mike Lang, the originator of the legendary Woodstock Music Festival in 1969, is at it again.
After a series of start-and-stop negotiations, Lang has found a willing partner: Vernon Downs Raceway.
News reports indicate that it will happen, although this time the traffic from New York’s metropolitan area will be headed in a more westerly direction, along Route 90 leading to the local access roads.
Awaiting final approval from the organizers, Jeff Gural, owner of Vernon Downs, Tioga Raceway and world class New Meadowlands in East Rutherford, NJ, indicated that “the ball is in their court.”
The three-day event, scheduled to be held AUG 16-18, has estimated a capacity crowd of 65,000 attendees.
“We’d like to see it happen,” added Gural, managing member of American Racing and Entertainment. “It would be good for the state and also good for the area.”
